  • Professional

Choosing a boarding option can be hard enough, why not let us make it easier on you? Our boarding program is kept small and exclusive to allow for individualized care and low stress. I come from an extensive professional background with over 10 years of professional training and nearly 20 years of animal care and handling. I have worked as a veterinary technician and am well-versed in delivering medication and handling special needs. I am a fully licensed and double-insured business in the state of West Virginia and I consistently strive to better what we have to offer to our clients.

What is Required for Boarding?

  • Dogs MUST be up to date on all current vaccinations.

  • Required Core Vaccines: Rabies, Distemper/Parvovirus, and Bordetella (kennel cough).

  • Leptospirosis and Lyme vaccines are highly encouraged, but not required. The Canine Flu vaccine is recommended for any dogs traveling within higher risk areas.

Boarding Guidelines

  • Owners may pick up and drop off dogs any time between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM for our normal nightly rate. Drop off/pick ups MUST be scheduled with WPK9 PRIOR to your stay, as we operate within our home.

  • Early drop offs and/or late pick ups will incur an upcharge of $25/per.

  • Dog must arrive with a leash, collar or harness, and all of the required belongings listed above.

  • Dogs should have either an ID tag attached to their collar/harness or microchip with updated information.

  • Dogs that do not have a sufficient amount of food/supplements during their stay that require WPK9 staff to purchase more food, supplements/medications, etc. during their stay will incur additional fees based on costs.

  • Transportation may be arranged prior to your dog’s stay (WPK9 may pick up or drop off your dog) within a reasonable distance of our Fairmont location for an additional cost.

  • Dogs MUST BE ABLE to be kenneled or crated safely! This means they are not causing excessive damage to kennels, crates, attempting to escape, or causing self-injury while kenneled. We have sturdy and safe kennels, but your dog’s safety and comfort are our top priority.

  • Sending dogs with known human aggression is against our boarding policy.   Any dog that has to be sent home due to displaying human aggression will be required to pay for the time that they were boarded plus a 50% fee for all the remaining nights.

  • Cancellation fees do not apply if your dog must return home due to an injury, illness, or scheduling change and you will only be responsible for the time that they actively boarded.  Feel free to change up your stay as needed at no additional fee.

  • If you need to cancel your dog’s stay, please do so within 3 days of your drop off date. Cancelling your dog’s stay after this time frame will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of total services booked.

  • Dogs with severe anxiety that does not permit them to be kenneled safely with us will require them to be sent home. Owner will be responsible for paying for the time the dog was boarded.
